NETBALL WAIRARAPA SPECIAL GENERAL MEETING THURSDAY 20TH APRIL 2023 @ 6.30PM VIA ZOOM

Woolworths futureFERNS Year 1 & 2 - Introduces Netball to 5-6 year olds.

The Year 1 & 2 Woolworths futureFerns programme is delivered in Term 1 and Term 4 for a total of six weeks per term.  The programme is run on Tuesdays with the rounds starting at 3.45pm

Teams need to enter separately for Term 1 and Term 4

All teams must supply their own "Star Helper"/Coach for the duration of the programme

REGISTRATION & FEES

All team registrations are now completed through Sporty. Please use your school login to register all teams this season. If you do not have your login information please contact the team at Sporty support@sportsground.co.nz. You need to enter separately for Term 1 and Term 4.

We also help individuals to connect with a team if needed. 

It is $130 to enter a team 

Year 1- 2  Minimum 4 Maximum 8 players

​​​​​​​COACH (Star Helper)

Each team entered needs a 'Star Helper' (Coach) who has attended our free Year 1-2 Star Helper workshop.  The workshop is specific to the Year 1-2 age group and helps to get all our helpers on the same page so we can offer a better experience for the children

GAME DAY FORMAT

  • Warm up
  • Game of 4v4 Netball played across 1/3 of a court . Games are 2 x 8 minute halves
  • Warm down

Team helpers will be actively involved during the session.   At game time, your team helper is an on-court support working with the helper from the other team.

EQUIPMENT  AND UNIFORMS

Teams to provide bibs and balls, Netball Wairarapa will have balls and bibs available if teams are unable to provide.

Uniforms do not need to be worn, but children should wear suitable sports shoes and bring a drink bottle.  First aid: All teams to provide their own first aid, Netball Wairarapa will have ice available

We often get asked about the fantastic balls we use with this age group!  They are called 'Super Grip 20cm' and are available from Sports Distributors (product code PG844).

CANCELLATIONS

Will be notified from 12pm via email to school delegate and facebook.  If no cancellation announcement is made, please assume netball is on 

There are no defaults in this age group.  If you are short of players please just let your coordinator know on the day.  They will be able to help your team borrow from another so that no keen kids miss out on their game.
